The two protagonists are hungry: terribly hungry. A voracious, insatiable, atavistic hunger. They tell us about this hunger, they tell us what they do to satisfy this atavistic need and, together with the audience, they question themselves about physical hunger, but also spiritual hunger. Partly inspired by ‘La fame dello Zanni’ (Dario Fo's masterpiece based on ‘Mistero Buffo’ from 1969), a play for one person, the show will instead focus on the presence of two characters, their dialogue and their relationship. In fact, despite its lightness and liveliness, the show succeeds in its political and social intent by bringing to the audience the dramatic theme of poverty and the hunger that comes with it, and the parallel between food, nourishment for the body, and art, nourishment for the soul. The result is therefore a lively reflection on the relevance of this hunger, leaving open the question: how can we combat it?
